The Alberta Motion Picture Industries association (AMPIA) relies on its membership to volunteer their expertise on various committees in order to ensure success in fulfilling the Association's mandate. Members are encouraged to participate and offer their expertise and experience on one of the Committees by contacting the AMPIA office.

Broadcast Committee:
AMPIA's Broadcaster Relations Committee oversees the performance and actions of the National broadcasters as well as Alberta's local broadcasters, monitoring their actions and the impact on Alberta's film and television production community. This committee is also responsible for drafting intervention letters to the Canadian Radio- Television Commission (CRTC). Current Chairperson is: Joe Novak

Communications Committee:
Established in 2008, this committee is responsible for the association's various communications tools - the monthly Newsletter, email blasts, member's receptions & breakfasts. Currently Chaired by Christina Willings of Calgary.

Events Committee (Awards):
The industry Events committee is responsible for overseeing the planning and successful implementation of AMPIA's annual fundraising events; specifically, the Alberta Film and Television Awards. This committee is currently Chaired by Mark Wood of Studio Post, in Edmonton.

Feature Film Committee:
This committee provides a forum for discussion and consultation for members who have focused their careers on feature films. The committee monitors policies regarding developments on the federal
level that may impact on Alberta's filmmakers. Current Chairperson: Neil Campbell of Landmark Cinemas in Calgary.

Government Relations:
This committee's primary purpose is to liaise directly with Alberta's provincial government to ensure that the concerns of the film and television industry are understood and addressed. Current  Chairpersons are: Norm Bishop of the law firm Bishop & Mackenzie in Edmonton and Joe Novak of Joe Media Group in Calgary.

Membership Committee:
This particular committee oversees the processing of all membership applications and is responsible for AMPIA's profile within the industry and with the general public, maintaining a professional image with other industry organizations provincially and nationally. Current Chairperson: Doug Steeden of Jordan Films in Edmonton.

Producers Caucus:
As AMPIA is primarily an Association for the representation of film and television producers, this committee is established to deal with specific issues and concerns of AMPIA's producer members, including funding issues. Current Chairperson: Josh Miller of Panacea Entertainment, Edmonton.

Professional Development Committee:
This committee is focused on creating and initiating workshops, seminars and information sessions on a continuing basis for skill development of members to ensure that Albertans remain competitive in the world marketplace. Current Chairperson is: Sonya Donaldson, Edmonton Email: action@ampia.org

Sponsorship/Fundraising Committee:
Established in 2008, this committee assists the association's Executive Director in creating ideas and contacting potential sponsors for financial support. Current Chairpersons are: Neil Campbell of Landmark Theatres and Mike Frislev from Nomadic Pictures in Calgary.

Alberta Film Advisory Council (AFAC):
The AFAC is a provincial council with representatives from a wide cross-section of the industry including Producers, Unions & Guilds, Film Commissioners, NAIT, digital content creators, Alberta tourism, the Aboriginal community as well as Alberta’s hospitality industry. AMPIA is  represented by 3 Board members. The council was created to help create a long-term strategy for sustainable growth of Alberta's film and television industry. The AFAC is responsible for advising government on the industry's priorities, supporting and assisting Alberta Film in the implementation of these priorities and recommending performance measures for the overall operation of Alberta Film. The council also provides the government with inside knowledge regarding competition from domestic and international markets Current members of the AFAC include the following individuals:
